Hitchcock featuring Anthony Hopkins gets a poster and 2012 release date

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

So, here is how Hollywood works: big bloated projects like G.I. JOE: RETALIATION and WORLD WAR Z have countless problems and get their release dates shuffled months into the future while small budget projects with awesome casts get their dates bumped up months to be released in time for awards season. Yeah, I think I can deal with that give and take.

HITCHCOCK, the biopic of the famed director starring Anthony Hopkins, Helen Mirren, Scarlett Johansson, Danny Huston, Toni Collette, Jessica Biel, Michael Stuhlbarg, James D’Arcy, Michael Wincott, Richard Portnow, and Kurtwood Smith was slated for a 2013 release but now will be hitting screens on November 23rd of this year! Sure, it is limited release and likely just in time for awards recognition, but that means we will see it sooner rather than later.

Plot: HITCHCOCK is a love story about one of the most influential filmmakers of the last century, Alfred Hitchcock and his wife and partner Alma Reville. The film takes place during the making of Hitchcock’s seminal movie Psycho.

I am extremely excited for this movie. I am a huge fan of Hitch and would love to see how they portray his quirks and idiosyncracies on the big screen. Combined with the Toby Jones/Sienna Miller HBO movie THE GIRL, focusing on Hitch and Janet Leigh, I hope there will be new recognition from younger movie fans about the master and his filmography.

Check out the new poster for HITCHCOCK.
