Will the Crimson Twins, Tomax and Xamot make it into G.I. Joe 2?

Now that Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick (ZOMBIELAND) are headed off to Hasbro HQ in search of new characters to add to the script for G.I. JOE 2, one has to wonder who they will choose.

If I told you that Tomax and Xamot, also known as the Crimson Twins were up for consideration, what would you say?

Not sure? Well, if you’re a G.I. JOE newb like myself, then perhaps I should explain (JOE superfans, please fill in the blanks if I leave something out). Tomax and Xamot are identical twins with a special telepathic bond. The connection they share is very useful: they communicate without words, finish each others sentences, and have the ability to feel each others pain. They are the pretty corporate faces of Cobra’s extensive enterprise. When they’re not syncing up to kick ass, they are polished to have board room meetings in their best suits.

Could it be cheesy? Yep. Could it be so cheesy it turns out to be awesome? Yes. It could also be flat out terrible. In this rather short clip from an interview with MTV, Reese and Wernick flirt with the idea of having the twins make an appearance in the sequel. They don’t confirm anything, but Reese says that you could read it off his face.
