Jason Statham versus Clive Owen’s mustache in the trailer for Killer Elite

Jason Statham and Clive Owen have each demonstrated their competence for kicking ass, but in KILLER ELITE they’re pitting that capacity for cinematic violence against each other.

The movie (unrelated to the 1975 Sam Peckinpah flick with James Caan and Robert Duvall) is based on a supposedly true story called “The Feather Men”, and finds Statham as “an ex-special ops agent lured out of retirement to rescue his mentor (Robert DeNiro). To make the rescue, he must complete a near-impossible mission of killing three tough-as-nails assassins with a cunning leader.”

Owen’s villainous lip fuzz might seem a bit inconsistent with his badass stature, but the movie has a strong supporting cast (Mr. Eko!) and copious amounts of hand-to-hand combat. Check out the trailer below or in HD at Yahoo!
