Well fans, the hits just keep on coming– yesterday the company announced PHANTASM II will be soon be getting the 1080p treatment:

Yes, you read that right– not only is the sequel getting a Region 1 special edition, it’ll also be the first PHANTASM film to ever hit Blu-ray. Ironically, the sequel has long been the only entry in the franchise with a bare bones edition in North America. After years of being picked on by its special edition sporting brothers PHANTASM III: LORD OF THE DEAD and PHANTASM IV: OBLIVION, the second entry finally has its time to shine!
