Good news for fans of FX hit “American Horror Story,” one of the best actors from the first season has agreed to return for revamped second frame…

THR has it that Frances Conroy (seen right) has decided to come back for show’s second season, referred to as “AHS: Asylum.” Apparently the narrative this time out deals with angels and devils, and Conroy will portray the “Ultimate Angel.” Whether that means the most virtuous or the last one alive remains to be seen.

About the return, showrunner Ryan Murphy beamed:

“Thrilled to announce Emmy nominee Frances Conroy is returning to AHS…Devils and angels this year…Frannie plays the ultimate angel.”

Conroy too is stoked, hoping she’d get the callback, saying:

“It would be dark, but it would be great…It would be so interesting to jump into another world if they put me on for an episode.”

Sounds like you’re getting more than 1 episode, Franny.

Back on air October 17th – “AHS: Asylum” also stars Jessica Lange, James Cromwell, Adam Levine, Jenna Dewan, Blake Sheldon, Chris Zylka, Joseph Fiennes, Chloe Sevigny (below), Clea Duvall, Mark Consuelos, Sarah Paulson, Evan Peters, Lily Rabe, James J. Collins and Zachary Quinto.
