Dante goes Batty

Joe Dante’s back at what he does best: directing flicks with little monsters.

I’m sure you all know Mr. Dante as the man behind GREMLINS. Some of his other credits include: PIRANHA, THE HOWLING, GREMLINS 2, and THE BURBS, among lots others, including a couple MASTERS OF HORROR episodes.

So needless to say Joe Dante knows what he’s doing. Variety just dropped word that Dante (right) has his next project all lined up: BAT OUT OF HELL.

The flick comes from Parallel Zide and VooDoo Prods. Warren Zide, Jerry Daigle, Michael Arata and Ray Markovich are all set to produce with Craig Titley executive producing.

BAT OUT OF HELL is written by the duo of Drew McWeeny and Scott Swan and follows a red-eye flight from L.A. to New York during which hijackers confront the monstrous cargo.

Shooting is set to start later his year. We’ll keep you updated.



The gorgeous Jenna Elfman starred in Dante’s LOONEY TUNES: BACK IN ACTION.
