Those crystal blue eyes of Zooey Deschanel are headed to the set of M. Night Shyamalan’s natural-disaster action flick THE HAPPENING. The Hollywood Reporter first nabbed the news of Deschanel joining Mark Wahlberg for the thriller, as 20th Century Fox is pushing for an August production launch in Philadelphia.
In addition to the directing duties, Shyamalan also writes the film, and the story revolves around a family on the run from a natural crisis that presents a large-scale threat to humanity. – As you can tell, plot details are at a premium, but the studio did confirm that Deschanel would be playing the lead.
