Musician Rob Zombie has been directing feature films for over twenty years at this point, and now his younger brother – who is known as “Spider One” and is the frontman of his own band Powerman 5000 – is also getting in on the filmmaking action. Spider One has made his feature directorial debut with the horror anthology Allegoria, and you can check out the trailer in the embed above!

Allegoria is set to receive a VOD release on August 2nd, courtesy of RLJE Films, and will also be available to watch on the Shudder streaming service on that date.

Surprisingly for an anthology, Allegoria has a very short synopsis that doesn’t give away the fact that it’s made up of multiple stories:

A group of artist’s lives become unwittingly entangled as their obsessions and insecurities manifest monsters, demons and death.

The film is also quite short for an anthology, with a running time of just 70 minutes. It stars Krsy Fox (I Live Alone), Adam Busch (Buffy the Vampire Slayer), Bryce Johnson (Darkness Rising), Scout Taylor-Compton (Rob Zombie’s Halloween).

Krsy Fox also wrote the script for Allegoria with Spider One. The film was produced by OneFox Productions. Spider One previously conceived the 2011 horror comedy TV series Death Valley.

RLJE Films’ Chief Acquisitions Officer Mark Ward had this to say about the company’s involvement with Allegoria:

Collaborating with emerging filmmakers/artists like Spider One is a top priority for us. We couldn’t be more proud to debut his first film. He is a great talent with a unique vision.”
