A monster seeks revenge in The Monolith comic book adaptation

Earlier this year, director Tim Miller had massive success with his feature debut, the Marvel Comics adaptation DEADPOOL. Now Dave Wilson, the creative director at Miller's Blur Studio, is turning to a DC Comics property to make his feature directorial debut with, signing on to direct Lionsgate's adaptation of Justin Gray and Jimmy Palmiotti's twelve issue series THE MONOLITH.

Published in 2004 – 2005, THE MONOLITH was "a contemporary retelling of the classic Golem legend" that centered on 

Alice Cohen, an ex-junkie who inherits a house in Brooklyn from her deceased grandmother. She discovers a diary there that reveals the creation of a monster in the 1930s set on revenge for the slaying of a good man.

The screenplay has been written by Barnett Brettler.

As part of his duties at Blur Studios, Wilson served as the creative supervisor on another huge Marvel film, AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON.

I'm not familiar with THE MONOLITH at all, but the plot description and artwork definitely appeals to me. I look forward to watching this project continue to come together.
