While we've been focusing on the production of the tenth season of the FX anthology series American Horror Story, which is titled American Horror Story: Double Feature, and watching the show's co-creator Ryan Murphy ponder season themes on his Instagram account, work on the spin-off series American Horror Stories has been flying under the radar. Apparently a lot of work has been done on American Horror Stories, because it has been announced that the show is going to make its debut in July.
Consisting of standalone episodes that each tell a contained story, rather than the original show's approach of telling a story over the course of an entire season, American Horror Stories will be exclusive to the Hulu streaming service.
Fans will have some time to enjoy the new show on Hulu before American Horror Story: Double Feature starts airing on FX in the fall. The 10 episodes of Double Feature will build up to the season finale airing on Halloween.
The spin-off is being so successfully kept under wraps, all we really know about its first season is that American Horror Story regular Sarah Paulson directed an episode. Paulson made her directorial debut with a season 8 episode of American Horror Story back in 2018. It remains to be seen if she'll be appearing on American Horror Stories, but she was at least behind the camera at some point.
