AVP throne in Japan

Before anyone goes running over to Sideshow looking for this puppy, you’re out of luck for the time being.

Yes, even though Hot Toys has a deal with Sideshow to distribute figures and the like, this AVP statue looks to be the exception. Set for release in Japan in April of next year, this 26cm statue will run around 18000 yen (roughly $152.00 US), and it’s not certain at this point that we’ll be seeing it on our side of the pond. That is, unless you fork out the big bucks on eBay or similar sites. Too bad, since this statue looks damn fine, and makes up for the film’s shortcomings (almost). Hopefully AVP2 won’t leave us relying solely on collectibles to fill the coolness void.
