Time to round out our Netflix casting with the living weapon, Iron First! Here are the previous castings: Daredevil, Luke Cage and Jessica Jones
Last, but certainly not least, we have Danny Rand AKA Iron Fist. This is a character I figured would already have made an appearance in the flesh either on the big or small screen. The character has taken several turns in his animated form whether it’s been in video games or ULTIMATE SPIDER-MAN. They attempted to get a movie going for Iron Fist back in 2000 with Marvel still trying to get it rolling well into 2010. But finally, Netflix decided that the character was worthy of his own solo series.
Who would fit the role? I’ve seen several, more high profile suggestions like Charlie Hunnam and Ryan Gosling. I can tell you it likely won’t be either one of those guys. Hunnam seems to be the more popular choice of the two. I’d always thought that Justin Hartley, who played Green Arrow on SMALLVILLE could be a contender. Rand is normally seen with sandy blonde hair, and is particularly fit due to his martial arts training. What about Gabriel Macht from SUITS? Or Drew Fuller from ARMY WIVES? Just to throw out some ideas. I decided to think small this time around. I wouldn’t be surprised if someone mentions Scott Adkins.
I wonder if they will go with the first run of Iron Fist, or pull the story from Ed Brubaker and Matt Fraction’s Immortal Iron Fist storyline. I think that’s my biggest inquiry when it comes to any of these solo hero series. What are their ideas for each character? I also imagine that at some point they will cross over into each other’s shows. Have you noticed that all the characters share a common thread? Should get interesting as more details come in.

You guys did a fantastic job casting Jessica Jones! Love the choices here! Honestly, you can’t go wrong with any of these ladies. Personally, I think that Eliza Dushku and Jewel Staite are the best fit here. I love Leslie, and I believe the reason I don’t see her in this role has a lot to do with associating her with Ygritte from GAME OF THRONES. Anyway, I think you all have made some amazing choices with the Netflix casting! Can’t wait to see who comes up next!
