After reuniting with his THOR: RAGNAROK co-star, Tessa Thompson, for Sony's upcoming sci-fi action comedy, MEN IN BLACK: INTERNATIONAL, it's been announced that Hemsworth is boarding another buddy action vehicle alongside GIRLS TRIP star and comedian Tiffany Haddish. The buddy cop project is titled DOWN UNDER COVER, which is being billed as an action comedy akin to films like 48 HOURS, RUSH HOUR, and THE HEAT.

According to Deadline, who exclusively broke the news late Tuesday morning, Hemsworth will play a detective who goes undercover to crack a series of baffling casino heists in which the prime suspects are a troupe of Australian male erotic dancers. He’s forced to take the partner no one else will — Haddish’s character, a lone wolf who does things only one way: hers. Together they have to work as an unlikely duo to solve the crime of their careers.

Exotic male dancers, eh? How much do you want to bet that the script by Peter Hoare at some point finds Hemsworth having to pose as a member of the troupe? He'll be up on the big screen all shirtless, neon lights bouncing off his pecs, his abs rippling as he … whoa! Okay. Ahem.

As time marches on, Haddish has established herself as an in-demand screen presence. Hell, she's got nine credits to her name in both film and television this year alone. Her new animated Netflix comedy with Ali Wong, TUCA & BERTIE, recently launched to solid reviews, and most recently she completed her role as Ruby O'Carroll for the screen adaptation of THE KITCHEN. In the film, Haddish will star alongside Elisabeth Moss, Domhnall Gleeson, and Melissa McCarthy for a crime drama that centers on the wives of New York gangsters in Hell's Kitchen who in the 1970s continue to operate their husbands' rackets after they're locked up in prison. The project is based off of the DC Comics limited series written by Ollie Masters with art by Ming Doyle.

When Haddish teams with Hemsworth for DOWN UNDER COVER, there's no telling what manner of shenanigans they'll get up to. After all, Hemsworth has proven himself to be quite the comedic actor as well. Here's hoping that the duo can bring their A-game for a genre that deserves to shine again on the silver screen.
