The Criterion Collection is dedicated to gathering the greatest films from around the world and publishing them in editions of the highest technical quality, with supplemental features that enhance the appreciation of the art of film. That's a quote lifted directly from their website and while their Blu-rays/DVDs are generally more expensive than the norm, I've never been dissatisfied by a single one. Earlier this week they released a book, Criterion Designs, that features a lot of the artwork that goes into the covers of each release.
