Creepshow: season 3 of Shudder anthology series has already been filmed

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

Season 2 of the Creepshow anthology series won't be making its premiere on the Shudder streaming network until April 1st, but season 3 is already on the way. We heard last year that Shudder ordered scripts for a third season while production on season 2 was shut down due to the pandemic, and now the show's "creative supervisor" Greg Nicotero has revealed to Entertainment Weekly that when season 2 was able to start filming, they went ahead and filmed season 3 as well.

A week before Shudder subscribers will have a chance to see episode 1 of season 2, Creepshow season 3 is already in post-production!

Nicotero said,

Through the course of the pandemic, I was developing scripts, I was writing material, and by the time we went into production (on season 2) we had an entire slate of (season 3) scripts in the hopper ready to go. That gave us the opportunity to shoot two seasons' worth of material within a six-month period, which is pretty insane. Right now, I'm in post-production on season 3, and finishing mixing on season 2, and prepping to direct on the Walking Dead, all at the same time."

In addition to running Creepshow for Shudder (which is owned by AMC), Nicotero is an executive producer on AMC's The Walking Dead, heads up the special effects department, and frequently directs some of the show's biggest episodes.

I really enjoyed the first season of Creepshow (not to mention the '80s films the show was inspired by) and season 2 is looking very promising, so I'm happy to hear season 3 is already at such an advanced stage.
