Crossing Swords trailer proudly showcases violence, magic, and profane humor

Hulu continues its push in animation with the first trailer for Crossing Swords, created by Robot Chicken executive producers John Harvatine IV and Tom Root.

Crossing Swords follows Patrick, a goodhearted peasant who lands a coveted squire position at the royal castle. He soon finds that his dream job quickly turns into a nightmare when he learns his beloved kingdom is run by a hornet’s nest of horny monarchs, crooks, and charlatans. Adding more conflict is the fact that Patrick's valor has made him the black sheep of the family and his criminal siblings have arrived to further complicate his life. The animated series, consisting of 10 episodes, features the vocal talent of Nicholas Hoult, Tony Hale, Luke Evans, Adam Pally, Seth Green, Yvette-Nicole Brown, Wendi McClendon-Covey, and more.

Much like Robot Chicken, Crossing Swords stands out due to its unique animation style, which is painstakingly made almost entirely via stop motion. Also of note, even though this is an animated series, Crossing Swords is clearly made for the adults in the room and its raunchy brand of humor is exactly what we need right now as we're looking for a good laugh. For Hulu, Crossing Swords adds to an impressive animated slate that features the upcoming Solar Opposites, from Rick and Morty co-creator Justin Roiland, and an acquired adult animation lineup that includes Robot Chicken, Rick and Morty, Family Guy, Bob's Burgers & South Park.

I've been a fan of Robot Chicken for years so I'm all in on this one. The trailer was pretty funny and the vocal talent involved is top-notch. Definitely adding this one to my streaming list when it debuts. Will YOU be checking this one out? Crossing Swords hits Hulu streaming on June 12, 2020.
