Exclusive: Alex Kurtzman talks The Mummy & what to expect from Dark Universe

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

Tom Cruise is back, and this time he has to face a very old and ancient adversary. Welcome to THE MUMMY. With the first official entry into Universal’s Dark Universe, we are being introduced to a brand new world of action and horror. And it’s all coming together with the help of the very talented Alex Kurtzman. Alongside Mr. Cruise, you’ll find Sofia Boutella, Annabelle Wallis, Russell Crowe, Jake Johnson and Courtney B. Vance. Frankly, after getting a glimpse at the return of the Universal Monsters earlier this year, I can’t wait to see what they have in store.

Recently, we had the great honor of talking to Mr. Kurtzman about THE MUMMY and so much more. In this exclusive interview, he opens up about taking on this particular story. The director talked about working with Tom and some of the impressive images we are all about to see. And when it comes to moving further into the world of The Mummy, The Wolf Man and more, he discussed the upcoming Dark Universe projects he is looking forward to being a part of. Get ready for BRIDE OF FRANKENSTEIN and CREATURE FROM THE BLACK LAGOON.

We’d like to personally thank Alex for taking time out of his busy schedule to chat with us. He is a terrific talent, and a fantastically cool guy. And now, bring on the curse! THE MUMMY opens this Friday at a theater near you!
