Six years passed without a new film from director Uwe Boll, a filmmaker some would describe as infamous, while others would say he’s legendary. Then last year he made Hanau (Deutschland im Winter – Part 1), about a real-life mass murderer. Now he’s back with the police drama First Shift, and while the movie isn’t expected to be released until sometime in 2024, a trailer has already arrived online. Boll wrote, directed, and produced First Shift, which is described as being a gripping police drama with the spirit of a classic road movie, taking us on a soul-stirring journey through the vibrant streets of New York City into the depths of our own reality and the innermost corners of our souls. Immersing viewers in a high-octane adventure delving into the lives of dedicated law enforcement officers.
The story follows a NYC policer officer along with his rookie partner Angela, as they have a rough day while living the dangerous, and routine job of being a cop in the city.
First Shift stars Gino Anthony Pesi (Shades of Blue), Kristen Renton (Sons of Anarchy), James McMenamin (Orange Is the New Black), Willie C. Carpenter (Hard Target), Daniel Sauli (The Deuce), Brandi Bravo (Rogue Hostage), Garry Pastore (The Irishman), Kwabena Ampofo (Fleishman Is in Trouble), Onye Eme-Akwari (Queen of the South), Tia Dionne Hodge (Not Okay), Tom Ukah (The Crowded Room), Oliver Stafford (The Blessed Ones), Cate Bottiglione (The Politician), Aaron Berg (The Boondock Saints II: All Saints Day), and Holland Smith (MidLife).

I can’t say I’ve ever seen a Uwe Boll movie I’ve actually liked, but I definitely haven’t seen them all, and I don’t feel passionate enough about his movies to want to get in a boxing match with him over them.
