Guillermo Del Toro's and Chuck Hogan's book series-turned-show, The Strain, is almost upon us. An extended trailer debuted earlier this month, but FX has released a behind-the-scenes video that mixes footage from the pilot with cast and crew interviews, giving us our biggest look yet.

Check out the creepy:

Despite my love for all things del Toro, I acknowledge the fact that he's not a household name among your average layman. With that in mind, my only two fears behind this show is whether or not the direction will continue to be solid after the pilot (Guillermo's sense of creepy style is like no other) and whether or not there's an audience for this show. Given how many shows (poor ones at that) are out there showcasing elements of the supernatural, I hope the masses will find room in their hearts for this one.

The Strain, starring Corey Stoll, Sean Astin, David Bradley, Mia Maestro, Kevin Durand, Natalie Brown, Jonathan Hyde, Richard Sammel, Robert Maillet, Jack Kesy, Ben Hyland and Miguel Gomez, will will air on FX at 10pm (EST) on July 13, 2014.
