God Is a Bullet: Jamie Foxx leads all-star cast for Nick Cassavetes thriller

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

Who's ready for a star-studded dose of Satanic panic? Oscar-winner Jamie Foxx (Project Power, Baby Driver), Emmy-nominee Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Game of Thrones), Golden Globe nominee January Jones (Mad Men, X-Men: First Class), Maika Monroe (It Follows, Villains), and um, Andrew Dice Clay (A Star is Born) are set to star in the action-thriller God Is a Bullet.

Written and set to be directed by Nick Cassavetes (The Notebook, Alpha Dog), based on the novel of the same name by Boston Teran, the story follows vice detective Bob Hightower (Coster-Waldau) who finds his ex-wife murdered and daughter kidnapped by a satanic cult. Frustrated by the botched official investigations, he quits the force, gets tattoos, and infiltrates the cult to hunt down the cult leader with the help of the cult’s only female victim escapee, Case Hardin (Monroe). According to Deadline, Foxx will play the pivotal supporting role of 'The Ferryman'.

“I am excited to get God Is A Bullet into production with my friend and producer/financier, Michael Mendelsohn. It’s a magnificent, ultra-dark work that is somehow both intensely frightening and literate, inspired by true events, with the most amazing cast of actors,” said Cassavetes.

Pre-production is being set up in Mexico City and production is expected to commence starting May 24, 2021. Michael Mendelsohn will produce through Patriot Pictures, with Don Allen. Kim H. Winther and Jim Steele co-producing. Meanwhile, Sidney Kimmel, Chuck Pacheco, Paul Johansson, and Natalie Perrotta will executive produce.
