Today is a special day for horror fan’s. It’s like a little
holiday for all of us genre guys and gals. That’s right, Friday the 13th!
And what makes this day all the more special, aside from the
old wives tale of it being a ‘cursed’ day, it shares it’s name with quite
possibly the most recognizable face (or mask) in horror; Jason Voorhees.
Most horror fan’s are familiar with the tale behind Jason. How
on a steamy summer night, a young CHUD baby looking mother f**ker named Jason
would go for an unsupervised dip in Crystal Lake, only to sink like a stone.
Blaming the camp counselors who were off doing the nasty thing, a teen-age
killing spree begins with Jason’s mom first taking revenge, and continues with Jason picking up the
slack after his mama’s fatal demise. Hell, Jason even takes this ball’s to the
wall brawl into outer space!
Now the beauty of the
FRIDAY THE 13TH
series is that the films are so versatile that everyone has their favorite
movie, and favorite death scene. For me its always been the boxing scene in
FRIDAY THE 13TH: JASON
TAKES MANHATTAN. I can remember first seeing it in grade school and the
scene’s always sort of stuck with me.
So in the the spirit of this holiday, that will
only befall us twice this year, we are proud to once again present the montage
of all the death scenes from the
FRIDAY THE 13TH
series in chronological order. But let’s not stop there. What are your favorites
