Finnish black metal comedy Heavy Trip now on VOD!

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

Bloody Disgusting and Doppelgänger Releasing's Finnish black metal comedy HEAVY TRIP had its U.S. premiere at this year’s SXSW Film Festival and has since been a festival darling at Oslo’s Inferno Metal Festival, the 2018 Fantasia Film Festival, and others. And today we wanted to make sure all of you guys were aware that the must-see flick is now available on VOD.

You can check out the film's trailer below – along with the movie's poster – and then make sure to take note that you can give the flick a look-see tonight after work on VOD. I know I'll be making time to check out this festival gem… after I finish up Mike Flanagan's THE HAUNTING OF HILL HOUSE.

In this offbeat comedy from Finland:

Turo is stuck in a small village where the best thing in his life is being the lead vocalist for the amateur metal band Impaled Rektum. The only problem? He and his bandmates have practiced for 12 years without playing a single gig. The guys get a surprise visitor from Norway—the promoter for a huge heavy metal music festival—and decide it’s now or never. They steal a van, a corpse, and even a new drummer in order to make their dreams a reality.

The film is directed by Jukka Vidgren & Juuso Laatio from a screenplay written by Vidgren, Laatio, Aleksi Puranen, & Jari Olavi Ranta. It stars Johannes Holopainen, Minka Kuustonen, Ville Tiihonen, Max Ovaska, Antti Heikkinen, and Chike Ohanwe. Kai Nordberg & Kaarle Aho produced.

The film is now available on VOD and will be landing on DVD November 13, 2018. Pre-order HERE.
