Hillcoat gets wet

JoBloJoBlo

Once, there was a girl I was attempting to court, and I forced her (with a machete to her pinky) to watch THE PROPOSITION with me. And guess what? She loved it, and now she loves me. Thank you John Hillcoat, for directing such a wonderful movie and for making a fit girl fall for me. But as of late, she’s been straying, and I’m counting on your upcoming adaptation of Cormac McCarthy’s THE ROAD to win her back. And now that I hear you’re making a film after that, I know that she’ll be mine forever.

Hillcoat will follow THE ROAD with an adaptation of the yet-to-be-released novel THE WETTEST COUNTRY IN THE WORLD, about three gangsters who run shit during Prohibition, and the reporter who tracked them, hungry for a scoop. Columbia snapped up the rights to the book well before its release (this October) so it must be something. THE ROAD comes out Thanksgiving.
