A new trailer for the long-awaited Solomon Kane!? Is it finally getting a release?!

The last time we wrote about Michael J. Bassett's SOLOMON KANE was back in June 2010, when we heard the thing would be getting a UK DVD release. Then over a year later we were treated to The Arrow's review of the flick. And that's it. We've heard zilch on SOLOMON KANE since then.

Well with Comic-Con in full force over in San Diego it should come as no surprise that the powers that be figured now would be a perfect time to drop a brand new trailer for the flick! Does this mean a US release date is right around the corner? Why yes, yes it does! Though unfortunately an exact date has yet to be announced. SOLOMON KANE is a fictional character created by the pulp-era writer Robert E. Howard. A 17th century Puritan, Solomon Kane is a somber-looking man who wanders the world with no apparent goal other than to vanquish evil in all its forms. His adventures, published mostly in the pulp magazine Weird Tales, often take him from Europe to the jungles of Africa and back.

James Purefoy stars as the titular 'Kane' with Rachel Hurd Wood (below), Max von Sydow, James Babson, Laura Baranik, Geoff Bell, Matthew Blood-Smyth, Jason Flemyng, Stewart Moore, Mark O’Neal, Samuel Roukin, Ryan James and the late Pete Postlethwaite rounding out the cast. As soon as we hear any other news regarding SOLOMON KANE, like that highly-anticipated release date, we'll be right here to tell you about it.

Extra Tidbit: Our first SOLOMON KANE article was on October 3rd. 2007!
