Last Updated on July 31, 2021

Starz is set to premiere the new series AMERICAN GODS, based on the novel written in 2001 by Neil Gaiman, this Sunday, April 30th at 9PM. As if we needed any further reason to be ultra-excited for the upcoming series, Starz has now released an awesome f*cking trailer.

Check it out below!

I have not yet read Neil Gaiman's novel the series' is based on, but I plan to get right to that as soon as if finished my current book of the month, Stephen King's CUJO. Yeah, I know, I'm a bit behind on my reading list.  Anyhow, I need to get moving on the AMERICAN GODS novel as the premiere is rapidly approaching!

Have you read the novel? What did you think? Let me know in the comments below, and, please, no spoilers. Thanks guys!

Rundown via press release:

“American Gods” posits a different kind of war brewing—one between Old Gods and New.  The traditional Old Gods, with mythological roots from around the world, fear irrelevance as their believers die off or are seduced by the money, technology, and celebrity offered by the New Gods. Shadow Moon (Ricky Whittle) is an ex-con who, left adrift by the recent death of his wife, becomes bodyguard and traveling partner to conman Mr. Wednesday (Ian McShane). But in truth, Mr. Wednesday is a powerful old deity, on a cross-country mission to build an army and reclaim his lost glory.

AMERICAN GODS stars Ricky Whittle, Ian McShane, Emily Browning (see below), Pablo Schreiber, Yetide Badaki, Bruce Langley, Crispin Glover, Orlando Jones, Gillian Anderson, Kristin Chenoweth, Jonathan Tucker, Cloris Leachman, Peter Stormare, and Corbin Bernsen

Bryan Fuller and Michael Green are writing the series as well as acting as showrunners, and David Slade is directing the pilot and additional episodes. Add to that, Neil Gaiman is on as executive producer along with Fuller, Green, Slade, Adam Kane, and we have one hell of a talented line-up behind the scenes.

And remember, AMERICAN GODS premieres Sunday April 30th at 9PM.
