Eli Roth talks Death Wish remake w/ Bruce Willis on Mick Garris’ Post Mortem

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

I've mentioned before HERE and HERE that every horror fan should subscribe to director Mick Garris' new bi-weekly podcast POST MORTEM. The series features hour-long, in-depth, filmmaker-to-filmmaker interviews with some of the top MASTERS OF HORROR.

This past Wednesday, Garris sat down with one of horror's new master of horror, Eli Roth.

Aka The Bear Jew.

I highly recommend checking out Roth's episode of POST MORTEM with Mick Garris. The man knows his stuff and it is more than adequate way to kill an hour on this fine Monday. I believe enthusiasm gets you a long way in this world. Skill doesn't hurt. Roth has both. In spades.

Eli Roth on his DEATH WISH remake w/ Bruce Willis:

MGM was terrific. I actually said, 'Look at what David Cronenberg with the kill scenes and the tension, and look at how all of that works in 'A History of Violence' and 'Eastern Promises', that's what I can bring to this.

You can take the Hostel torture scenes, and they can translate to Death Wish, because I will give you spectacular set-pieces.

You can listen to the full episode HERE.

And you can also check out past episodes with Walter Hill (ALIEN), Jovanka Vuckovic & Karyn Kusama (XX), an epic roundtable with Joe Dante & John Landis, and the very first episode featuring the above-mentioned Rob Zombie.

Enjoy!
