Have you guys ever heard of a comic called GHOST SWEEPERS? Me either. But considering there’s a flick about this thing that was just snatched up that’s exactly what I’ve come here today to tell you about!

According to Screen Daily the Seoul-based sales company Finecut just picked up the $5m comic action horror, which was directed by Shin Jung-won.

Chan-young, a young journalist, is sent to cover a story when all the top shamans from nationwide gather up for a grand exorcism at a small village notorious for dark rumors about an evil spirit.

They barely manage to even enter the village for this evil spirit is unlike anything anyone has seen so far. The group of shamans begins their grand ritual, but with the strange eerie force that dominates the entire village and repeated attacks by the spirit, most of the shamans run for their lives. Only the five best shamans remain along with Chan-young. So the six begin to explore the dark secrets of the village while preparing for the biggest battle against the evil forces.

GHOST SWEEPERS, which will combine situation comedy and genre elements, sports a cast that includes Kim Soo-ro, Kang Ye-won (below) and Lee Jae-hoon. Currently in production, once this thing is finished Korea’s Next Entertainment World will be handling it’s wide release.

So that’s about all we’ve got on this one thus far folks. As soon as more news spills our way regarding GHOST SWEEPERS we’ll be sure to pass it right along to all of you.
