Channing Tatum as a sci-fi hero? You buying it?

THR has it that Fox has tasked Will Dunn with adapting Jesus Orellana’s 2011 animated short ROSA into a live-action feature. Orellana will direct, Tatum is attached to star, with Simon Kinberg to produce along with IAM Entertainment.

ROSA is an epic sci-fi short film that takes place in a post-apocalyptic world where all natural life has disappeared. From the destruction awakes Rosa, a cyborg deployed from the Kernel project, mankind’s last attempt to restore the earth’s ecosystem. Rosa will soon learn that she is not the only entity that has awakened and must fight for her survival.

I take it Channing won’t be playing ROSA, although that’d make it a must see in my opinion. Question then is, who’ll win the title role? Who should?
