Ah, I do believe we had this one…
When it was announced in August that Adi Shankar was spearheading an all-female EXPENDABLES like film, Gina Carano’s name was the second mentioned in a hypothetical game of “cast this.” Well, it’s become fruitful…the sexy but tough as nails former MMA star (pictured) has been set to top-line the yet to be titled action flick. No shock, right?!
About the decision, Shankar (of 1984 Private Defense Contractors) had this to say:
“I don’t know how I’m supposed to make a movie that is supposed to be the female version of ‘The Expendables’ without Gina Carano in it. It would be like making Twix without caramel or Jamba Juice without jamba.”
Um, not really sure how to respond to that one. This Adi fella is a wild man!
Dutch Southern is working on the script for the untitled actioner, with high-profile actresses currently being courted. Let’s keep it going…who should or do you want to see partake in the female EXPENDABLES?
