Michael Vartan makes a reservation at Bates Motel for season 2

With production on the second season of A&E's hit series "Bates Motel" starting this week, we've got some groovy (and potentially spoilerish) casting news to share with you.

TVLine has learned that "Alias" alum Michael Vartan has been cast as a new romantic interest for Norma (played by Emmy nominee Vera Farmiga) for the show's second season, which is set to air in early 2014.

Vartan's recurring character, George, is a charming divorcé who catches Norma’s eye. It’s one of three new roles the show is introducing in Season 2, which is said to also include a female best friend for Norma and "an estranged brother".

We make no secret of our love for "Bates Motel" here at AITH, so any news regarding the show comes as a pleasant surprise. And Vartan is a welcome addition to the show...let's just hope he doesn't come with a quick expiration date!

We'll keep you posted on news regarding "Bates Motel", including the filling of any 'vacancies', as we hear it!
