Retro Horror: Alien + Aliens Toy Commercials (1979-1986)

Do you dig Retro Horror? Well, if you do then today we have something really special to share with you. Today we have two killer toy commercials from 1979 and 1986. One for Ridley Scott's masterpiece ALIEN and James Cameron's sequel ALIENS. Both are contained in the awesome video above.

Ridley Scott's ALIEN begins

In deep space, when the crew of the commercial starship Nostromo is awakened from their cryo-sleep capsules halfway through their journey home to investigate a distress call from an alien vessel. The terror begins when the crew encounters a nest of eggs inside the alien ship. An organism from inside an egg leaps out and attaches itself to one of the crew, causing him to fall into a coma.

ALIEN was directed by Ridley Scott (ALIEN: COVENANT, PROMETHEUS) and produced by Gordon Carroll, David Giler, and Walter Hill from a screenplay written by Dan O'Bannon based on a story by O'Bannon and Ronald Shusett. It starred Tom Skerritt, Sigourney Weaver, Veronica Cartwright, Harry Dean Stanton, John Hurt, Ian Holm, and Yaphet Kotto. 20th Century Fox unleashed it back on June 22, 1979. BUY IT HERE.

Meanwhile, James Cameron then kicked the franchise to high-gear with ALIENS which centered on

Lt. Ripley (Sigourney Weaver) whose shuttle is found by a deep space salvage team after floating in space for 57 years. Upon arriving at LV-426, the marines find only one survivor, a nine-year-old girl named Newt (Carrie Henn). But even these battle-hardened marines with all the latest weaponry are no match for the hundreds of aliens that have invaded the colony.

ALIENS was written & directed by Cameron from a story by Cameron, David Giler, and Walter Hill based on characters created by Dan O'Bannon and Ronald Shusett. Gale Anne Hurd produced and the sequel starred Sigourney Weaver, Michael Biehn, Paul Reiser, Lance Henriksen, Carrie Henn, William Hope, Jenette Goldstein, Al Matthews, and Bill Paxton. 20th Century Fox unleashed the sequel back on July 18, 1986.
