Tom Towles, the fantastic character actor whose credits included HENRY: PORTRAIT OF A SERIAL KILLER, THE BORROWER, 1990's NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD remake, HOUSE OF 1000 CORPSES, and THE DEVIL'S REJECTS just to name a few, has passed away at the age of 65.

Rob Zombie, who had worked with Towles several times, including his 2007 HALLOWEEN remake, announced Towles’ death Sunday on Facebook, sharing “I just got word that our buddy Tom Towles has died. He was such a great guy and I am so grateful that we got to work together several times. He will be really missed.

In 1986's unforgettable HENRY: PORTRAIT OF A SERIAL KILLER, directed by John McNaughton, Towles played the character Otis opposite Michael Rooker as the title character. Towles’ psychopath was based on real-life serial killer Ottis Toole. Towles also starred as Harry Cooper, one of people trapped in the farmhouse and the father whose young daughter becomes a zombie, in the remake of NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD. He also worked on Michael Mann's MIAMI VICE.

Towles also found a lot of work on television, appearing in "Seinfeld", "NYPD Blue", "L.A. Law", "ER", "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine" and "Star Trek: Voyager", and the cult favorite but short lived "Firefly".
