Youngster Mason Cook signs on as ‘Eddie Munster’ in “Mockingbird Lane”

With the mess of new genre shows heading our way I can’t help but feel one project is getting lost in the shuffle. I’m of course talking about NBC’s “Mockingbird Lane.”

Regardless of slacking on the news front recently, the “Munsters” reboot is very much still heading our way. That news is hammered home today with the announcement that the show has found it’s ‘Eddie Munster!’ According to Deadline Hollywood youngster Mason Cook has signed on to star as ‘Eddie Munster,’ who is the youngest part of the Munster family.

Cook (right) is actually pretty established, with roles in the upcoming films THE INCREDIBLE BURT WONDERSTONE and THE LONE RANGER. As well as last year’s SPY KIDS IN 4D. He joins the previously cast Eddie Izzard, who will play ‘Grandpa,’ and Charity Wakefiled (below), who will play ‘Marilyn,’ in “Mockingbird Lane.”

The madness begins when a baby bear attacks a scouting trip, only it turns out that this “bear” is actually Eddie transformed into a werewolf. Eddie is unaware of his metamorphosis and it forces the family to move in order to protect the family secret. The coming of age story gets weirder as he fights against his family when he learns of a shocker: they’re a family of flesh-eaters!

There’s still no telling when things will get rolling on “Mockingbird Lane” but you can bet we’ll be right here to keep you updated every step of the way.
