What is the penalty for informants that sing like canaries if snitches get stitches? We may find out Informant comes to screens. According to Deadline, Dominic Purcell (Prison BreakDC’s Legends of Tomorrow), Nick Stahl (Let The Right One In), Kate Bosworth (Superman Returns), and Mel Gibson (Boss LevelLethal Weapon) will star in the upcoming thriller Informant. Currently in production, Informant revolves around a police detective dying of cancer who makes a deal with an informant to get killed in the line of duty so that his family will be taken care of with bureau benefits. His best friend and partner help him cover it up.

Michael Oblowitz is directing from a script written by Michael Kaycheck, Oblowitz, and Brook Nasser. Daniel Cummings and Oblowitz produce, with Matthew Heldermann, Tyler Gould, and Luke Taylor executive producing. Red Sea Media will shop the film for potential buyers, with Red Sea Media’s Roman Kopelevich and Roman Viaris also executive producing.

“We’re looking forward to bringing Michael Oblowitiz’s powerful and timely story to audiences with this phenomenal cast,” said BondIt CEO and Co-Founder Matthew Helderman.

Orchestrating a death while under the watchful eye of the bureau is easier said than done. Between the red tape, convincing a buddy to rub you out, and covering your tracks, there’s a reason more people never pull it off. Additionally, your family would be up Shit Creek if authorities discovered your plot. What if the wrong person gets wind of your scheme? As I said, it’s a slippery slope. You had better hope that business goes like clockwork.
