The Arrow
interviews Sheri Moon

With

Halloween
upon us and with this year’s top Halloween Party Movie “House of
1000 Corpses”
out on DVD (It was released
August 12th), what better way to celebrate the holiday than by having
Miss Sheri Moon visit the site. Personally, I totally groove on the
character of Baby– the laugh, the hot looks, the enthusiasm when it
comes to killing…what’s not to love? Ladies and gentlemen…I give you Miss Sheri Moon!

ARROW: Hey Sheri!

SHERI:
Hey, how you doing?

ARROW: Pretty good
yourself?

SHERI: Good!!!

ARROW: I assume you didn’t always want to be an
actress since HOATC was your first film.

SHERI: No, it was never an ambition of
mine.

ARROW: So what did you want to do?

SHERI: I’ve been with my husband Rob
(Zombie) for
about 11 years, I go on the road with him and I work on tour,
dancing on stage during the shows. But when I was a  kid, of
course, I wanted to be famous, but I just never pursued it. I actually
wanted to do voice-overs, like cartoon voices or something.

ARROW: So what finally convinced you to hop in front of the camera
to act?

SHERI: It didn’t take much
convincing, I was really nervous about it though. Rob  wrote the
part for me, he knew I could do it so I did it.

ARROW: Well, he was right, you kicked ass in the film.

SHERI: Thanks.

ARROW: Did you feel at all intimidated by the more seasoned actors on
set?

SHERI:
Oh, of course, especially working with Karen Black. But she was
really supportive, very nurturing and just great to work with. She was
also a great guide.

ARROW: So what’s the
difference between Baby on the page and Baby on-screen? Did you run
with the role, go crazy a little bit?

SHERI: Yeah, once I was in the makeup and
wardrobe with all the hair that I had, which was a lot, it kind of
transformed me into Baby! I get a lot of feedback from the laugh, it’s
not something I practiced or rehearsed, it was just something that
came out on the spot.

ARROW: Do you feel weird
when fans ask you to do the laugh?

SHERI: Yeah, because I sort of forgot
how to do it. We we’re at the San Diego Comic Con and they asked me to
it.

ARROW: Yeah, you did it though…I was there when you did it.

SHERI: Oh cool!

ARROW: It
came through.

SHERI: Thanks!

ARROW: So would you say that working with your husband on your
first film made it easier than if you would have had to deal with a
stranger?

SHERI: I think
so, I worked with him as a director before in music videos that he
directed. I never probably would’ve done it if he wasn’t the one
directing. But now I just finished “The Toolbox Murders” for Tobe
Hooper.

ARROW: How did that go?

SHERI: Oh great, I love Tobe, he’s a
super guy!

ARROW: Tell us about your part, is
it a lead, a supporting?

SHERI:
I’m the first person that gets murdered in the opening scene. I
get killed by a hammer, it’s a small part, but it’s like the Drew
Barrymore character in “Scream“.

ARROW: So you
got to play something totally opposite from Baby.

SHERI: Yeah, big time.

ARROW: Are you looking forward to playing Baby again in the
upcoming sequel?

SHERI:
Yeah, I’m totally psyched. I’m really looking forward to it. Rob
writes 50 pages here, pages there and I’m really excited to read
the whole script.

ARROW: So the script isn’t
finished yet.

SHERI: No.

ARROW: There’s no planned shooting date set?

SHERI:  No, I think they’re aiming
for the fall, but there’s nothing set in stone.

ARROW: Baby has become a cult favorite horror persona fairly quickly….

SHERI: Really?

ARROW: Yeah, you got a lot of fans!

SHERI: (laughs)

ARROW: Do  you find the fan attention you’re getting weird?

SHERI: You know, I don’t feel that at
all.
I’m surprised to hear you say that, but I think the fans are cool.

ARROW: So what’s next for you acting-wise? Anything else before
HOATC Part 2?

SHERI: No,
we’re actually going to London tomorrow for a few weeks to promote the
theatrical release of HOATC at Fright Fest (interview took place a
while back).

ARROW:
Very kool. Last question, have you seen “Freddy
Vs Jason
” yet?

SHERI: No, but I’m voting for Jason.

ARROW: Good bet. Thanks Sheri and have yourself a great day!

SHERI: Thanks, you too. It was great
talking to you!

I’d
like to thank Sheri for her time and would like to wish her the best.
I’m looking forward to hearing that laugh again and seeing her slash
more throats in House of a 1000 Corpses: Part 2. Till then, I’ll watch
my DVD of the first for my BABY fix.
