The Jetsons TV live-action

Get ready to meet the live-action versions of George Jetson, Jane Jetson, Elroy Jetson, Judy Jetson, and, of course, Astro and Rosie, because according to a report by TVLine, Warners Bros. is in early development of a live-action sitcom remake of the 1960's animated series. Set in the far-flung future of 2062, the animated series followed the titular family as they lived their lives in the futuristic utopia of Orbit City which was full of elaborate robotic contraptions, aliens, holograms, and whimsical inventions.

Development on The Jetsons is said to be in the early stages, but Warners Bros. have apparently hired Gary Janetti (Family Guy) to oversee the potential series. Janetti would also serve as an executive producer alongside Robert Zemeckis and Jack Rapke. The series doesn't have a network to call home just yet, but Warner Bros. will apparently begin shopping the multi-camera project around to various broadcast and cable networks in the coming weeks. Like the original animated series, this live-action remake will be set 100 years in the future, which would put the date around 2117/2118. The potential series isn't the only Jetsons project in the works, as Warner Bros is also working on an animated feature-film centering around the space-age family. Conrad Vernon, co-director of the recent SAUSAGE PARTY, is attached to direct the film.

I'm not sure if I can see The Jetsons working as well as a live-action sitcom, but hell, show me what you got, Warner Bros. If you're suddenly hungry for some futuristic eye-candy, you won't have long to wait as VALERIAN AND THE CITY OF A THOUSAND PLANETS is set to hit theaters on July 21, 2017. Our own JimmyO recently saw the Luc Besson flick and called it "a thing of beauty… incredible world building and star making work from [Cara] Delevingne!"
