The Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings films ushered in a wave of fantasy novel adaptations in the early 2000s. These included movies like the Chronicles of Narnia films and Percy Jackson and the Olympians. The star of the two Percy Jackson films, The Lightning Thief and Sea of Monsters, Logan Lerman, has been vocal about his support of the new Disney+ series, which adapts the novels into multiple episodes for the streamer. Recently, Lerman appeared on the Happy Sad Confused podcast and continued to display his excitement of the show.
The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that Lerman told the podcast host Josh Horowitz, “The show looks amazing. I can’t wait to see you all crush it in your roles. You’re making a lot of people happy bringing these characters to life.” Lerman singled out the show’s lead, Walker Scobell, who take up the mantle of Percy Jackson, “I can’t imagine a better fit for Percy Jackson than Walker. You were so brilliant in The Adam Project. I hope you like eating blue food the next few years because I think you have a hit show on your hands.” While the two Percys haven’t crossed paths before, they have exchanged pleasantries thanks to Lerman’s enthusiasm for Scobell’s portrayal. The Disney show star had shared that he returned compliments to Lerman, “I watched one of his movies, Perks of Being a Wallflower. I really liked it. I thought it was so good, I DM’d him and told him.”
Disney revealed the show’s episode titles on Instagram, which reflect moments from the novels. The episodes, in ascending order, are titled “I Accidentally Vaporize My Pre-Algebra Teacher,” “I Become Supreme Lord of the Bathroom,” “We Visit The Garden Gnome Emporium,” “I Plunge To My Death,” “A God Buys Us Cheeseburgers,” “We Take A Zebra To Vegas,” “We Find Out The Truth, Sort Of,” and “The Prophecy Comes True.” The series makes its premiere tomorrow.
