It’s ok people, you can breathe. Matthew McConaughey will not be playing history’s greatest president in Steven Spielberg’s upcoming biopic, or in any other film for that matter. That distinction still belongs to the honorable Mr. Liam Neeson.
Instead, McConaughey will stick to what he does best; mediocre films, based on mediocre scripts, with mediocre box office receipts and mediocre reviews. The film is called THE LINCOLN LAWYER, a legal thriller that centers on low-level defense attorney Mickey Haller (McConaughey) who finds himself representing a wealthy client with ties to a previous murder case Haller handled.
The film is based on a Michael Connolly best-seller that was published in 2005. I hate being so hard on McConaughey because the guy seems like a super cool dude and I guarantee I would have fun tying a buzz with him. He probably knows a ton of awesome bar tricks too, but let’s face it–he hasn’t done a cool movie in like, forever.
