Other than the game itself, the Super Bowl is known for the commercials that run during the big game. A 30-second spot ran for $5.5 million for this year's game and it gave companies an opportunity to get many eyes on any given product they're trying to sell. A-list celebrities are typically used to garner more attention for these ads and this year was no exception. With names like Michael B. Jordan and Timothee Chalamet appearing in some of the ads, it should come as no surprise that they dominated the list of the most-watched commercials on YouTube during the game.

Google released data about the Top 10 most viewed ads globally on Sunday night through 7:00 PM on February 7. According to Google, the viewership of Super Bowl ads on YouTube during the game rose over 70% on TV screens from last year. Topping the list was Michael B. Jordan's Alexa commercial which featured the actor as the "ideal body for Amazon's Alexa device." The ad had garnered publicity even before the game and its popularity continued into game day. Following Jordan's ad on the list was a two-minute spot from Jeep featuring singer Bruce Springsteen in his first Super Bowl commercial. The ad put a focus on unity, healing the divide, and common American ideals.

The next two ads to grace the list bring it back to movies and pop culture. Cadillac ran a commercial for their All-Electric Cadillac LYRIQ  which paid homage to the classic Tim Burton movie Edward Scissorhands. In the ad, Timothee Chalament played Edgar Scissorhands, the son of the titular character and it even featured one of the original film's stars, Winona Ryder, as his mother. The point of the ad was to promote the joy of hands-free cruise control which is the only way young Edgar can get around due to his sharp appendages. Following the Cadillac ad was Wayne's World and Cardi B's Shameless Manipulation about eating local via Uber Eats. The ad brought back some Saturday Night Live nostalgia by revisiting the basement public-access show Wayne's World with its stars Mike Myers and Dana Carvey being joined by the popular hip-hop superstar.

I honestly didn't think much of the commercials this year but I did enjoy the "Edgar" Scissorhands homage as well as the Shaggy "It Wasn't Me" Cheetos commercial with Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis. Beyond those two, I was a bit underwhelmed and wondered how some of them could be so lackluster when that much money is poured into running an ad during the Super Bowl.
