Monsters and mystery abound in latest trailer for HBO’s Lovecraft Country

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

Each trailer for Lovecraft Country is just crazier than the last; I'm loving it. The latest trailer for the HBO series is jam-packed full of monsters, both otherworldly and all too real.

Based on the novel by Matt Ruff, the series comes to us from Jordan Peele (US), J.J. Abrams (STAR WARS: THE RISE OF SKYWALKER), and Misha Green (Underground), who also serves as showrunner. The series follows "Atticus Freeman (Jonathan Majors) as he joins up with his friend Letitia (Jurnee Smollett-Bell) and his Uncle George (Courtney B. Vance) to embark on a road trip across 1950s Jim Crow America in search of his missing father (Michael Kenneth Williams). This begins a struggle to survive and overcome both the racist terrors of white America and the terrifying monsters that could be ripped from a Lovecraft paperback." I'm down. In addition to Majors, Smollett-Bell, Vance, and Williams, Lovecraft Country also stars Tony Goldwyn, Wunmi Mosaku, Aunjanue Ellis, Jamie Harris, Abbey Lee, Jamie Chung, and Jordan Patrick Smith

Lovecraft Country will debut on HBO on August 16, 2020.
