Cool Videos: J.J. Abrams says he has hit a wall writing Star Wars and asks for fan help

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

Much like Harrison Ford a few weeks ago, J.J. Abrams appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live to plug his latest movie, STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS, only to be asked about the status of STAR WARS: EPISODE VII. Unlike Ford, Abrams shared the fact that he and screenwriter Michael Arndt have come down with a case of writer’s block to which Kimmel suggested taking some ideas from the audience.

What followed included suggestions from some costumed fans as well as Lando himself, Billy Dee Williams. Hell, even William Shatner had some ideas! Check out the video below.

Yeah, it is all a joke, but I like that Harrison Ford and Abrams are able to play along with this stage in the process. It makes the wait a little more tolerable for us fans.

STAR WARS: EPISODE VII opens Summer 2015.
