Fox says they are still committed to Fantastic Four franchise

Sorry, Marvel Studio fans, but it doesn't sound like Fox is going to relinquish its rights to the Fantastic Four any time soon. The Josh Trank-directed reboot had an abysmal showing in its opening weekend and received extremely negative reviews from critics (you can read ours here), however Fox distribution chief Chris Aronson tells THR that the studio still wants to make more movies featuring Marvel's first family.

While we're disappointed, we remain committed to these characters and we have a lot to look forward to in our Marvel universe.

Aronson declined to comment on the sequel that is scheduled to open in June of 2017, but the rumor is the studio might be considering swapping out the FANTASTIC FOUR follow-up with a DEADPOOL sequel.

There's a lot of blame to go around for how bad FF turned out, both critically and financially. Trank's comments last week certainly didn't help though, and analysts believe his tweet may have cost the film as much as $10 million. Besides the obvious and likely most popular answer (selling/giving the rights back to Marvel), what do you think Fox should do with the Fantastic Four?
