John Wick fights for his life in new John Wick Chapter 3 trailer

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

At the end of JOHN WICK CHAPTER 2 the title character (Keanu Reeves) was given only a small head start before a bounty of $14 million was placed on his head, and now his time is running out in this third chapter. The first trailer for JOHN WICK CHAPTER – PARABELLUM had no trouble blowing all our minds, but there’s even more to be excited by in the brand-new trailer, which features more slick action, deadly assassins, Reeves doing his thing, and Halle Berry’s dog companions stealing the show.

Shockingly, this trailer was able to take everything from the first trailer and amplify it to absurdly epic proportions, showing off one insane action sequence after another. Wick is fighting like a mad dog off the chain, unleashing hell on his enemies with knives, guns and, well, other dogs. We learned from this trailer Wick will actually be getting some help from Ian McShane's character, who supplies him with, quote, "lots of guns." The first two movies are such high marks in the modern action canon, but this one could easily come out being the best, if not the most bonkers and action-packed, which is more than enough to earn my ticket money.

PARABELLUM is directed by Chad Stahelski and written by Derek Kolstad, and along with Reeves, McShane and Berry also stars Laurence FishburneMark Dacascos, Asia Kate Dillon, Lance Reddick, Saïd Taghmaoui, Jerome Flynn, Jason Mantzoukas, Tobias Segal, Boban Marjanovic and Anjelica Huston.

Here's the synopsis:

John Wick (Keanu Reeves) is on the run for two reasons… he’s being hunted for a global $14 million dollar open contract on his life, and for breaking a central rule: taking a life on Continental Hotel grounds. The victim was a member of the High Table who ordered the open contract. John should have already been executed, except the Continental’s manager, Winston, has given him a one-hour grace period before he’s “Excommunicado” – membership revoked, banned from all services and cut off from other members. John uses the service industry to stay alive as he fights and kills his way out of New York City.

JOHN WICK CHAPTER 3  PARABELLUM is in theaters May 17.
