According to Variety, it’s just a matter of Knoxville accepting, and then they’ll start to fill out the trio with an appropriate Curly and Larry. And maybe a Shemp. The Fox project previously had Benicio del Toro, Sean Penn and Jim Carrey involved as the classic slapstick characters.
The plan is to make STOOGES a PG-rated movie divided into three separate “episodes”. Knoxville previously worked with the Farrellys on THE RINGER.
