Lady and the Tramp chow down on some spaghetti in new trailer

Last Updated on July 30, 2021

Even if you’ve never seen the original animated LADY AND THE TRAMP, everyone knows the iconic scene involving a single plate of spaghetti and meatballs. Restaurant workers inexplicably set a table for some dogs on the street, said dogs chew on the same strand of pasta leading to an unexpected kiss; it’s all very sweet. The remake set for Disney+ next month wouldn’t dare exclude the scene, and in the new trailer for the movie the scene is teased as Tramp (Justin Theroux) shows Lady (Tessa Thompson) the big world beyond her cozy home.

The new movie directed by Charlie Bean mixes live-action and photorealism to bring the dogs to life, and more of that style is on display in the full trailer. The two go on a heartwarming adventure filled with some banter and other animals, and it’s all very sweet and will probably be a solid hit on the streaming service when it debuts next month (even with all the other movies Disney is throwing on there).

The rest of the live-action and voice cast is fleshed out by Kiersey Clemons, Thomas Mann, Janelle Monáe, Yvette Nicole Brown, Ken Jeong, F. Murray Abraham, Sam Elliott, Benedict Wong and Ashley Jensen

Here's the synopsis:

In Disney+’s “Lady and the Tramp,” a timeless re-telling of the 1955 animated classic, a pampered house dog and a tough but lovable stray embark on an unexpected adventure and, despite their differences, grow closer and come to understand the value of home.

LADY AND THE TRAMP is on Disney+ November 12.
