Lee Pace talks a little about his upcoming audition for Guardians of the Galaxy

At some time today, Lee Pace will head on over to audition for the leading role of, Peter Quill aka Starlord in Marvel’s GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY. How’s he feeling about it? The actor dished out his thoughts over the weekend to MTV during a red carpet event for THE HOBBIT.

Pace said this on his prep for the audition, “I go in on Monday to meet them all and audition for it, so wish me luck. I’m very excited about it. The script is great. The character is a lot of fun. I have been [reading up on Star-Lord]. You want to know what you’re doing. The character is a lot of fun. I hope it works out.”

As you may have recently read, Pace has some competition for the role. Joel Edgerton, Jack Huston, Jim Sturgess, Eddie Redmayne, and possibly James Marsden are on a shortlist to nab the part. Does Pace think he has a good chance? “We’ll see. We’ll see. I’ve got to audition. I’ve got to go get it. I actually love auditioning, so I’m happy to go meet them all and do it,” Pace said.

GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY directed by James Gunn is due to release on August 1, 2014.
