Marvel scraps Hulu’s Howard the Duck and Tigra & Dazzler series

The Jeph Loeb-era of Marvel Television is over, and now that Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige has much more control over the small-screen side of things, we've seen many of shows which were in development before the changeover scrapped. There were four animated Marvel comedies in the works for Hulu, including M.O.D.O.K., Hit Monkey, Tigra & Dazzler, and Howard the Duck, but it seems that Tigra & Dazzler as well as Howard the Duck have been cancelled.

At the moment, both M.O.D.O.K. and Hit Monkey will still be moving forward, and Hulu's Senior Vice-President of Scripted Originals Craig Erwich recently said that he's "seen quite a few episodes of M.O.D.O.K., which I'm really excited about," while speaking at the Television Critics Association's winter press-tour. With the scrapping of Tigra & Dazzler and Howard the Duck, it's also expected that the animated cross-over series The Offenders won't be moving forward either. Sources have said that it was Marvel who ultimately made the choice to cancel the two shows, not Hulu. Production on the Tigra & Dazzler series was actually put on hold late last year, when the entire writing staff was let go due to creative differences and Marvel began searching for a new showrunner to overhaul the series. Clearly, it was decided to just pull the plug altogether. At the moment, the only remaining shows from Jeph Loeb's Marvel Television will be the final season of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Hit Monkey, M.O.D.O.K., as well as the live-action Helstrom, which is currently in production. "I’ve seen the first four episodes of [Helstrom] as well and I’m really excited about it," Erwich said. "It is a definitely a different corner of the Marvel universe in terms of its horror. It’s a really unique take on a horror show and that has a very unique family situation at the center of it. So, we’ll be announcing dates of those soon."

Anyone sad to see Howard the Duck and Tigra & Dazzler get scrapped?
