Netflix drops trailer & poster for Away – a Hilary Swank space series

Last Updated on August 2, 2021

It's comforting that, despite all the film delays emerging from COVID-19, one service that seemingly has an inexhaustible amount of content to entertain us with is Netflix. Coming up next for the streamer is "Away", a series starring Hilary Swank as an American astronaut leading the first international mission to Mars. It's set to hit Netflix on September 4th

The series comes from Jason Katims, the showrunner behind "Friday Night Lights" and "Parenthood", and seems to be an epic, character-driven look at the human factor involved in such a mission. In addition to focusing on Swank's journey as an astronaut, it looks like equal time will be given to depicting the struggle of those left behind, with Josh Charles playing her NASA engineer husband, and Talitha Bateman playing her 15-year-old daughter. Looks like another must-watch from Netflix, right?
