Ryan Reynolds congratulates Wonder Woman for box office victory

Last Updated on August 5, 2021

DEADPOOL may have shocked everyone by grossing an impressive $363 million at the domestic box office ($783 million global), but the Merc with a Mouth just got owned by the badass lady of the superhero world – WONDER WOMAN. The critically acclaimed movie just passed DEADPOOL at the domestic box office ($368 million), and actor Ryan Reynolds congratulated the film in the best way he knew how.

Reynolds took to Instagram to post an alternate version of his “Feel the Love” poster, this time adding in a little WONDER WOMAN bling:

The Merc May Be Filthier, but Her B.O. is Stronger. Congrats #WonderWoman #BoxOfficeBoss

WOMAN director Patty Jenkins responded in kind:

Like DEADPOOL, WONDER WOMAN wasn’t expected to be as big as other films in its shared universe (BATMAN V. SUPERMAN, MAN OF STEEL, SUICIDE SQUAD), but it opened above expectations and has been riding a wave of success, and has since blown its compatriots out of the water at the domestic box office. WOMAN still has a few million to go to beating POOL’s global take ($745 million to $783 million), but it seems moviegoers in America have fallen in love with the heroine, and that love isn’t waning anytime soon.

WONDER WOMAN is still in theaters, and DEADPOOL 2 is set for June 1, 2018.
