Scoob!, Warner Bros., Scooby Doo

As the COVID-19 pandemic continues, studios have rescheduled nearly all of their releases for the next few months, with most being pushed to late 2020 or even 2021, but some films have skipped the theater altogether and have headed straight for a digital release. The latest film is bypass its theatrical release is SCOOB!, Warner Bros.' animated Scooby Doo film featuring the voices of Zac Efron as Fred Jones, Gina Rodriguez as Velma Dinkley, Amanda Seyfried as Daphne Blake, Will Forte as Shaggy, and Frank Welker as Scooby-Doo.

Warner Bros. announced today that SCOOB! will become available both to rent (48 hour rental) and to buy on May 15, 2020 for $19.99 and $24.99, respectively. "While we’re all eager to be able to once again show our films in theaters, we’re navigating new, unprecedented times which call for creative thinking and adaptability in how we distribute our content," said Warner Bros. chairman-CEO Ann Sarnoff. "We know fans are eager to see Scoob! and we’re delighted we can deliver this feel-good movie for families to enjoy while they’re home together." SCOOB was originally slated to hit theaters on May 15th, but Warner Bros. removed the film from its slate last month, and clearly, they thought the best move for SCOOB! was to bring it to audiences as planned.
